Do not refrigerate Superworms.
They prefer temperatures between 70°F and 82°F.

Keep them in a small container with about 2 inches of dry substrate — wheat bran, cornmeal, cereal, or oats all work well. Add a root vegetable like a carrot or potato for moisture (they rot more slowly than leafy produce). Replace the food and substrate as needed.

As long as Superworms are kept together, they will not pupate.

Choosing Hold for Pickup is the best way to protect your Superworms during transit — especially in extreme weather. When you select this option at checkout:

• USPS orders will be held at your local post office

• UPS orders will automatically be held at your nearest UPS Store or Access Point
  If you'd like us to send it to a specific UPS location, just leave a note at checkout with the address.

Important: Enter the name of the person picking up the package at checkout. Adding a phone number also helps the carrier contact you when it’s ready.

Shipping & Temperature Guidelines:

Superworms are shipped in breathable mesh bags with ink-free newspaper. Boxes are labeled LIVE ANIMALS with 1" perforations for ventilation. Box layout and contents may vary by season and weather.

We do not ship on Fridays to prevent packages from sitting in transit over the weekend.

• Please check your forecasted highs for the 1–4 days following your purchase — this is your expected delivery window.

• If you're using USPS Ground Advantage, we suggest checking up to 7 days out, as transit may be slower.

Safe shipping temperature range: 55°F to 85°F (Highs)
If your local temperatures are outside this range, choose Hold for Pickup to qualify for the Live Arrival Guarantee.

Orders shipped to home addresses in unsafe temps without Hold for Pickup are not covered, even if the package is delayed or DOA.

We understand some customers have special cases — like being first on a route or having a climate-controlled mailbox. You’re welcome to choose home delivery under those conditions, but our guarantee will not apply.
